HEALTHCARE May 20, 2020 60 minutes
01:00 PM EST 12:00 PM CST 11:00 AM MST 10:00 AM PST

Description:-

Many significant changes in coding are often made mid-year and for the new year with little reporting to the medical community from CMS and other private carriers. Because of these changes and their delayed reporting, coders and billers, as well as physicians, are not aware of new rules until months later when the loss of revenue has already occurred because of unsuspected incorrect coding. This presentation will enumerate the 2019 mid-year and 2020 new year coding changes that may lead to claim denials and reduced payments if incorrectly coded. Urology and urogynecology 2019 midyear and 2020 new year coding rule changes will be stressed by didactic presentations and clinical scenarios. We will also present new, revised, and deleted ICD-10-CM diagnostic codes and CPT codes effective on and after October 1, 2019, for ICD-10 codes and January 1, 2020, for new CPT codes. This webinar will provide the attendees with the knowledge of how these changes are to be used and to be correctly billed.

Areas Covered:-

  • Changes in the performance of pelvic organ prolapse, POP, repairs, and changes in such coding
  • Changes in reporting BCG administration with a new CPT code for BCG
  • How to charge and code for splitting BCG dosages, using milligrams instilled as units billed
  • When and how to bill for pelvic exenteration, new coding from the AUA
  • 2020 new, revised and deleted diagnostic ICD-10-CM codes effective October 1, 2019
  • 2020 new, revised and deleted CPT procedural codes effective January 1, 2020
  • 2020 change in coding for scrotal or inguinal orchiopexy  with or without hernia repair

  • New bundling rule changes for modifier location changes
  • How to report laparoscopic procedures that have no specific CPT codes
  • Correct coding for co-surgeons using modifier-62
  • New coding for biofeedback training
  • Economics of urology, conversion factor, new fee schedule
  • and much more.

Tools and Benefits:-

Coding Tips and references to clinical scenarios will be stressed to assist in the understanding of these new rules and how to use them to avoid denials of claims or lower payments by not knowing the changed rules.

Who Will Benefit:-

Coders, billers, urologists, urogynecologists, non-physician providers, and any office staff involved in coding or posting of medical and surgical services. Anyone who wants to keep up with new coding rules and changes for the above specialties for 2019 and 2020 will find this presentation useful.
