On January 1, 2021, there will be many documentation and coding changes for office/ outpatient visit 99201 to 99215 for both new and established patients. There will be new time requirements for billing these visits as well as a new Medical Decision Making table to use in reaching the proper level of care. This session will review these changes in detail well in advance so changes in office and outpatient documentation templates can be made to facilitate the correct coding and consequently to receive correct reimbursements and avoid loss of entitled revenues. Coding examples and a coding exercise will be included in this session to help the attendees learn how to use this new information in their coding for clinical scenarios. There will be both didactic teachings as well as clinical examples to help attendees learn the new material for 2021.
Physicians of any specialty, including urologists, general surgeons, uro-gynecologists, physician assistants, and other NPPs, and office staff involved in any aspect of coding and documentation for office/outpatient services for both new and established (old) patients.
