Description:

Physicians and Podiatrists perform surgical procedures of the knee, ankle, and foot routinely, but the coding of these procedures can be complicated.  This conference will take a look at some of these common CPT codes to discuss the appropriate use when coding for these procedures, whether to treat injuries or chronic conditions.

Areas Covered in the Session:

  1. Understanding the major ligaments in the ankle, and primary and secondary repairs
  2. Current knee arthroscopy guidelines addressed in the NCCI policy manual.
  3. Proper usage of the modifier 59 and modifiers for the toes.
  4. Choosing the right codes for ankle and toe fusions and arthrodesis
  5. Assigning the 2017 codes for bunion repairs.
